Former Inter defender Daniele Adani gave his views on the attacking setup at his former club, suggesting that the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko, and Joaquin Correa could all play together up top for the Nerazzurri.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the 47-year-old gave an appraisal of the attacking options currently in Inter’s squad and of how the players could dovetail together.

Martinez, Dzeko, and Correa have all played significant minutes for the Nerazzurri across the club’s first three matches and all three have gotten off the mark in style with goals.

Not forgetting that Alexis Sanchez is also nearing readiness to make his return, the trio give a plethora of options to coach Simone Inzaghi to find goals and penetration in the final third, although finding the right balance given that each striker has unique qualities as well as areas in which their games are found lacking will be important.

“I saw a less brilliant Inter, a bit like Conte’s Inter,” Adani said of the Sampdoria match over the weekend. “After the break it is always very difficult for the big players to express themselves; Dzeko did less well, but in the 90 ‘he was able to hold the game together.”

“Then I think you have to give him a rest sometimes,” he continued, “the key is to let Correa play with Lautaro.”

On the possibility of playing all three together he said, “In 25 games in Serie A you can do it, and let’s not forget Sanchez who is at his best as an attacking midfielder.”
