Inter could have a good precedent headed into tomorrow’s Champions League group stage clash with Real Madrid concerning the head referee Daniel Sebert.

As Italian news outlet FCInterNews highlight, the last five fixtures involving Italian clubs that the German officiated resulted in four wins and one draw for the Serie A teams.

Siebert has taken charge of a Nerazzurri match before, refereeing their clash with Ludogorets in the 2019-20 edition of the Europa League, a match which finished 2-1 in Inter’s favour and saw them progress to the Round of 16 by an aggregate scoreline of 4-1.

The Nerazzurri will hope that they can continue this unbeaten precedent for Italian sides while Siebert is referee, although they will know that they cannot rely much on precedent and superstition against an opponent as strong as Carlo Ancelotti’s unbeaten Real Madrid team.

Inter know that they will need to be at their best for the encounter as they have already been beaten twice by Real in last season’s edition of the competition, but they will hope that they can win once again with Siebert officiating.
