Arturo Vidal could start ahead of summer signing Hakan Calhanoglu in midfielder for Inter in tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid at the San Siro.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri manager Simone Inzaghi could be ready to throw the Chilean into the action from the start ahead of the Turk.

Calhanoglu has started all three of Inter’s Serie A matches so far, with the 27-year-old having wasted no time integrating into the team since his arrival from AC Milan over the summer.

However, Vidal is seriously in the thinking of Inzaghi after some impressive displays from the bench, and could be handed the starting spot ahead of the former Rossoneri man.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Alessandro Bastoni will be fit to start the match after a minor thigh problem, with Federico Dimarco or Danilo D’Ambrosio potentially waiting in the wings to replace him, while Matteo Darmian could start once against ahead of summer arrival Denzel Dumfries again in a selection battle on the right.

The Corriere’s predicted lineup for the match is as follows, with the likes of Calhanoglu, Darmian, and Dimarco still narrowly favoured:

Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Dimarco; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro.
