Real Madrid full-back Marcelo will miss the Champions League opener against Inter at the San Siro tomorrow.

This according to Spanish news outlet Marca, who report that the Spanish giants will be without the 33-year-old due to a muscle injury suffered in training yesterday morning.

With fellow left-sided defender Ferland Mendy also set to miss tomorrow’s clash through injury, the Merengues will be without two of their main options in the left-back position, and will likely have to rely on the likes of Miguel Guttierez or David Alaba who have been named in the squad for the fixture.

Carlo Ancelotti will also be unable to call upon the likes of Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale, and Dani Ceballos for the clash with the Nerazzurri, all also sidelined with injury.

The Nerazzurri are also dealing with their own injury woes for the match with Stefano Sensi definitely missing and Alessandro Bastoni, and both teams will hope that the tie does not turn on decisive injuries.
