Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni looks set to start in the Nerazzurri’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who predict Inter’s starting eleven for the fixture against the Merengues, also suggesting that midfielder Arturo Vidal is in contention to start.

Bastoni was ruled out of Sunday’s Serie A match against Sampdoria through a minor thigh injury which he had picked up during the international break, and it was unclear if he’d be ready for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League group stage opener.

However, he has been back in full training and he looks to be the favourite to start this evening ahead of Federico Dimarco.

On the right, Matteo Darmian is likely to keep his place in the team ahead of summer signing Denzel Dumfries, while Vidal could start in place of Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield though the Turk is still the favourite.

The predicted lineup is as follows:

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro.
