Inter striker Edin Dzeko is giving head coach Simone Inzaghi a reliable option to build the attack around at the Nerazzurri this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight the Bosnian’s importance to Inter ahead of this evening’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Dzeko arrive this summer from Roma and has already made a major impression and cemented himself in the plans of head coach Inzaghi, having started all three of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A matches so far this season.

The 35-year-old is an experienced international, having made 116 appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina, scoring 60 goals in the process, meaning that he has made more appearances for his country than any other current member of the Inter squad.

Dzeko is likely to start against Real in Inter’s Champions League group stage opener, and this is a reflection of his status at his new club and in the eyes of his coach.
