Inter will meet with the entourage of midfielder Nicolo Barella later this week to begin talk on extending the 24-year-old’s contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are keen to get Barella’s future secured and that they are ready to offer €4-4.5 million net per season to convince him to renew.

Barella currently earns a net of €2.5 million per season on a deal which runs until the end of June 2024, but the Nerazzurri want to hand him a new deal.

The midfielder has become a vital player at the Giuseppe Meazza and the club would like to persuade him to commit his future while rewarding him for his performances with a wage increase.

It is thought that the player’s entourage are hoping for a larger salary than is being offered initially by the Nerazzurri, though the will of both parties is strongly aimed towards continuing on together and it may take a few meetings to conclusively work an agreement out.
