Inter legend Diego Milito has explained that Inter did not deserve to walk away from the Champions League match against Real Madrid empty handed, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking after the game on Amazon Prime Video, with quotes reported by FcINternews, Diego Milito suggested that a draw would have been a fair result from Wednesday night’s fixture, rather than the 1-0 win that Real Madrid came away with.

“For me, Inter did not deserve to lose. The draw was right, the performance was good.”

It was not all doom and gloom for Diego Milito though as he showed he still has complete confidence that Inter will qualify from Group D.

Inter have a good team and I am convinced that they will be able to qualify.”

During the game, Inter fans were aware that Diego Milito was in the stadium and started chanting his name. It was enough to make the Argentine want to run on the field and play again.

“Beautiful feeling, difficult to explain in words. It was a beautiful night.

“Seeing the boys play, it made me want to take the field.”

Inter were very impressive for much of the game but Thibaut Courtois made some excellent saves. Rodrygo then stole a late winner.
