An Italian football journalist has praised Inter for the bravery of their performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League On Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian print media.

Writing about the game for La Gazzetta dello Sport, Luigi Garlando explained that Inter were very brave in the way they attacked Real Madrid in the first half. He then warned, though, that there are lessons to be learned from this 1-0 defeat.

“Inter, a team in transition, were very brave with the excellent first half but they must not forget the lesson: who makes a mistake, pays for it, and whoever gets tired, loses.”

The finals section of the quote refers to the fact that Inter appeared to get tired much quicker than Real Madrid which allowed Los Blancos to get back into the game and eventually find themselves a winner.

Inter had been excellent in the first half, with Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez both missing some great chances to get the Champions League campaign off to the perfect start.

In the end it was Rodrygo who won it for Real Madrid.
