Ex-England national team manager Fabio Capello has suggested that the Inter squad is still trying to adapt to what Simone Inzaghi wants from his team, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking after the match on Sky Sport, with quotes reported by FCInter1908, Fabio Capello explained that there is no need for Inter fans to panic following the 1-0 defeat at home to Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

The reason for this is that the players are still trying to understand and adapt to what Simone Inzaghi wants from them in different situations, as is the case at any team when a new manager comes in. Fabio Capello believes there is confidence to take from the game.

“The players are still understanding what Inzaghi wants. The team is good, there is great confidence for the future after what was shown tonight.”

Fabio Capello also pointed out that other factors were against Inter during the Champions League defeat, such as the remarkable display put in by Real Madrid’s Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, who saved many great chances.

“When you have to accelerate compared to the championship, everything becomes more difficult. They could have done better in attack, there were opportunities, but there was also an excellent goalkeeper as Thibaut Courtois showed.”
