Inter striker Edin Dzeko has already shown why people should not compare him to Romelu Lukaku by clearly being in need of a rest against Bologna on Saturday, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported today by Corriere della Sera, Edin Dzeko is very unlikely to start this weekend’s match against Bologna because he is in need of a rest following the Real Madrid fixture.

Because the Bosnian was signed so soon after the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea late in August, many felt that he must be a direct replacement for the Belgian.

The fact that he will be rested for the Bologna match in favour of Joaquin Correa starting up front with Lautaro Martinez is a perfect example of why he was signed along with the Argentine.

The rotation of forwards was the best way to replace Romelu Lukaku at a point in the transfer window where it was too late to sign a singular quality replacement.
