Inter midfielder Matias Vecino has been called up as part of the Uruguayan national team’s thirty-man squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers during the next international break.

This is announced in a tweet by the Uruguayan national team from their official account, which confirms which players have received call-ups to the squad, with the Nerazzurri man among those included for the fixtures to be held during October.

Vecino was with his national team during the international break just gone, and will return for the next one as he looks to help the Celeste secure qualification for their fourth successive World Cup.

The 30-year-old will be in the squad for qualifying matches against Colombia at home (on October 7), against Argentina away (on October 10), and finally away to Brazil (on October 14).

It remains to be seen how much time Vecino will receive on the pitch for the fixtures, but he will be included in the squad.
