Inter hope to get the contract renewal talks with midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella wrapped up soon and will aim to accelerate them going forward.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the Nerazzurri are prioritizing the Croatian’s situation in particular as his current deal has less than a year left on it.

Inter are hoping to get the extension of striker Lautaro Martinez’s contract wrapped up very shortly, but the situation of Brozovic is also an urgent one.

The 28-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and the club want to secure the midfielder’s future and not risk losing him for free next summer.

To this end, they plan to accelerate talks on his extension soon, with Brozovic reportedly asking for a wage increase to €6 million net per season from the €4.2 million which he currently earns.

Meanwhile, the club also plan to reward Barella with a new contract soon and will look to get the process moving.
