Inter midfielder Matias Vecino has been praised for his performance against Bologna in yesterday evening’s match at the San Siro.

The player ratings for the Serie A clash in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport give the Uruguayan a 7/10 score and a positive write-up commending his return to the starting eleven against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men.

Vecino came in for Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield to make his first start of the season, and he looked as though he had never left, showing energy and intensity throughout the contest despite a few loose first touches.

The 30-year-old was rewarded for his energy and application with an easy finish after he gambled that a ball would reach him at the far post, and the goal, his first of the season, capped off a fine display which suggests that the midfielder still has plenty to contribute to this team after last season’s persistent injury struggles.

Tuttosport write of his performance, “He returned to the starting spot after missing a number of matches last season with the title won. He did everything right, including a goal from an experienced late run.”
