Inter are set to offer a new contract worth a net of €4.5 million plus add-ons to midfielder Nicolo Barella to convince him to renew with the club.

This according to Italian news outlet L’Interista, who report that extending the 24-year-old’s current deal is a priority for the Nerazzurri and that the club are prepared to offer him a new deal on improved terms until the end of June 2026.

Barella’s current deal expires at the end of June 2024 and there is no rush to extend him, but the club would like to secure the player’s future soon amidst interest from major European clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain and a number of Premier League clubs are interested in the midfielder, and the Nerazzurri do not want his head to be turned.

To this end, his status at the club could be rewarded with a new deal that reflects his importance, with the club currently prepared to increase his salary to €4.5 million net annually.
