Former Palemro defender Moris Carrozzieri believes that Inter can move on from the loss of striker Romelu Lukaku over the summer thanks to the quality of his replacement Edin Dzeko.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, the 40-year-old spoke about the quality of the summer signing from Roma, suggesting that his arrival will help Inter keep on pace at the top of Serie A.

Lukaku’s departure in the summer sent shockwaves throughout the Nerazzurri, with the club’s decision to accept an offer from Chelsea siganlling to many that they were ready to take a step down from last season’s Scudetto win.

However, the start to the season has been strong for Simone Inzaghi’s men, and the goals and performances of Edin Dzeko have been a big part of this.

Carroizzieri believes that the Bosnian can continue helping the Nerazzurri as they look to build a strong project in the absence of the Belgian.

“I sympathize with Inter, but I am not an avid fan,” he said. “Losing Lukaku was a difficult blow, but also Dzeko can do well.”
