Inter striker Martin Satriano is happy that he has managed to break his way into the first-team setup at Inter, and feels that his career is on the right track.

Speaking to Uruguayan broadcaster Canal 10, as reported by FCInterNews, the 20-year-old opened up about how he has felt about his rise through the youth ranks to become a part of Simone Inzaghi’s senior Nerazzurri squad.

Satriano impressed last campaign playing for Armando Madonna’s Primavera team, and he followed up this strong season with an eye-catching preseason with the Nerazzurri first team.

The Uruguayan’s performances during preseason were so highly thought of that head coach Inzaghi decided to give the young striker a chance in the senior squad as part of the attacking rotation.

So far Satriano has not played significant minutes or made a start with the Inter first team, but he nevertheless feels that he is in the right place and is glad to be able to work hard and show is quality training with the Inter senior team.

“I’m really happy for everything I’m experiencing with this Inter team,” he said, “I’m sharing an experience with top-level players. For me it’s very worthwhile and sometimes I don’t realize where I am, but it’s very nice to be there with players like Vecino, Lautaro, Alexis Sanchez, Kolarov, Perisic, regardless of whether I get on the pitch or not, it’s a great experience.”

He went on, “I try to learn from everyone. I’ve been here for a year and a half. When I arrived I switched to training with the Primavera side, I played three games before the break due to the pandemic. But when we resumed I was already training with the first team.”

“The last season I played fully with the Primavera, but was also training with the senior side,” he explained.

Satriano further explained that he was flattered by approaches from the Italian FA to represent the Azzurri at youth level, stating, “It’s nice because it means I’m doing well, but it’s something I wouldn’t, I’m Uruguayan.”

On his playing style, the 20-year-old said that “At Nacional I played more as a second striker, but now I’m getting used to being closer to the goal and playing more as a Number Nine. In Italy we talk a lot about the tactical aspect of the game.”

“At the beginning it was difficult for me, but I adapted,” he continued. “As far as the the physical aspect, the pace of play is also very different, even if in that aspect I have always worked well, today I feel better.”

Satriano also spoke of being glad to be nominated for the European Golden Boy award, stating that “Appearing among the nominations is very nice; there are players at a great level, who are young but who are already playing brilliantly in top leagues, such as Pedri at Barcelona or Eduardo Camavinga at Real Madrid. I’m happy to be there.”
