Inter Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello believes that last season’s Scudetto triumph represents a pinnacle of his work with the club, and wants to keep the momentum and good work going.

Speaking while receiving the Giacinto Facchetti award, as reported by FCInterNews, Antonello expressed his happiness at having been able to help deliver a mark of major success to the Nerazzurri, their first in a decade.

In his speech, Antonello spoke about the impression left on him by legendary former Inter fullback Giacinto Facchetti, and he opened up about the importance of the club in his life.

The CEO stressed the amount of effort that had gone into getting the team to a point where they could become Serie A champions, and looked to the future by speaking about his dedication to continuing on with the work that delivered last season’s Scudetto crown.

“I would like to say that I am excited, being here tonight is the crowning of a dream for me as a part of Inter,” he began. “After so much effort and hard work, receiving this award is a personal honour.”

He went on by speaking about the club as a whole and his colleagues, stating “I would like to thank all of you because it is a recognition to all the people who work at Inter. I was born in Tradate, but I lived and live in Bergamo and I would like to tell you an anecdote: it often happened that you saw Giacinto walking around the city, and there you understood his stature not only as an athlete but as a man.”

“We managed to fulfill the dream of winning the Scudetto after ten years, we hope that this sporting path can continue,” Antonello stated.

“Everyone who works at Inter remembers with warmth the example of Giacinto,” he said, “our Youth Sector trains in a Sports Centre named after him. He was a gentleman, a rare thing nowadays. He had the virtue of knowing when to be silent, he is part of Inter heritage, for us and for future generations.”
