Inter midfielder Arutro Vidal could be ruled out of participating in World Cup qualifiers with Chile during the October international break due to the injury which is currently keeping him out of action with his club.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 34-year-old is likely to miss at least a couple more matches as he recovers from a right thigh strain, and that it cannot be excluded that his recovery will continue through the October break.

Vidal missed the weekend’s match against Bologna at the San Siro, while he is also not part of the squad to face Fiorentina later this evening.

The Chilean may not return in time for next weekend’s Serie A clash with Atalanta or for the Champions League group stage match away to Shakhtar Donetsk either.

Looking beyond this, he may also end up having to stay at the Inter training centre recovering even through the next international break rather than link up with the Chilean national team.
