Inter Primavera Coach Christian Chivu: “More Than An Honor To Receive An Award That Bears The Facchetti Name”

Legendary former Inter player and current Primavera coach Christian Chivu is very glad to have received a Giacinto Facchetti award this year.

Speaking while receiving the award, the Romanian gave his thanks to the organizers of the event and spoke highly of legendary former Inter fullback Facchetti, one of the club’s greatest ever players and the man for whom the award is named.

Chivu was an important part of a significant era in the Nerazzurri’s history like Facchetti, having been a part of the 2009-10 Treble side.

Like Facchetti, Chivu has not only contributed to the club on the pitch, but followed up a career in which he won every trophy on offer by continuing to be a presence at the club, having coached the Nerazzurri’s Youth Sector at various level before being named as the replacement for Armando Madonna as the head coach of the Primavera team for this season.

“I thank the organizers for this wonderful evening, it is the first time in a year and a half that I have been among people I don’t know after having been in self-isolation for all this period,” he said.

“Receiving an award bearing the name of Giacinto is more than an honour, thanks Gianfelice and thanks to the organizers,” he said graciously.
