Inter took an important 3-1 win away against Fiorentina on Match Day 5 of the Serie A at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The Nerazzurri started the match poorly and deservedly went a goal down and were lucky to be trailing by just the one goal at halftime. In the second half Inter turned it around and were able to to cruise to victory.

Samir Handanovic – 7.5: Made a lot of fine saves and rolled back the years today especially in the first half. Fiorentina could have been way out of reach if not for Samir.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5 : Skriniar’s Kryptonite has always been playing against quick diminutive wingers. Gonzalez troubled him but Skriniar took control in the second half.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: Vlahovic game Stefan perhaps his toughest game of the Serie A season so far. The Dutch defender still managed to come with his reputation intact.

Alessandro Bastoni – 5.5: Italiano’s men did not give Ale any time on the ball, and he struggled to have the sort of positive impact he does on starting moves from the back.

Matteo Darmian – 6: Darmian had a shocker of a first half, didn’t get his positioning right for one single moment in the first half. Turned in around in the next 20 minutes.

Nicolo Barella – 6: Duncan did not let Barella breathe tonight. Then Fiorentina tired and Barella had a huge part in the start of Inter’s comeback with an assist to Darmian.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6.5: Yet another Serie A coach made sure that his team did not let Marcelo have any time on the ball, his teammates took control and he flourished.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu – 6.5: Hakan’s first half was just one good free kick. He struggled to do anything else. The second half was a different story. Brilliant set pieces throughout.

Ivan Perisic – 6.5: Perisic looked very hungry from the get-go, and it showed when Inter had more of the ball. Could have done more on the goal but scored at the end.

Edin Dzeko – 7: When Inter got Edin into the game, he showed that he can offer a lot. Played a crucial part in the equalizer and scored a hugely important second goal.

Lautaro Martinez – 5.5: Perhaps the only outfield player that did well in the first half. Made the second half very difficult for Torreira, his finishing let him down a bit tonight.

Denzel Dumfries – 6.5: Came on and immediately looked at home with the pace of the game. Fiorentina lost their heads and he looked dangerous every time he had the ball.

Matias Vecino – 6.5: Fantastic impact on the game. Yes, Inter were ahead but Vecino shut down the midfield spaces and made some brilliant forays forward. Great sub.

Alexis Sanchez – 6: Another positive substitution by Simone Inzaghi tonight. Should have scored a goal or even two. Hopefully he stays fit because the goals are coming.

Roberto Gagliardini – N/A: Great impact off the bench. Blocked the midfield towards the end and used his energy to get forward and made a delightful assist for Perisic tonight.

Federico Dimarco – N/A: Just like Denzel, Dimarco looked very much in control and could easily have got an assist towards the end. Came on at the right time to annoy Italiano.

Simone Inzaghi – 7: The first half was a disaster, nothing worked. Simone Inzaghi worked a miracle at half time and timed his substitutions perfectly. Great tactics tonight.

Michael Fabbri – 4.5: Lost control of the game very quickly as he blew for fouls that weren’t and missed the obvious ones. Missed a lot of bookings for both teams. Poor.

Inter – 6 : After a game like Bologna, it seemed like the team was still hungover. Took them 45 mins but in the end the superior fitness and class showed tonight.
