Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini believes that Inter are one of the two or three best teams in Serie A, and expects a difficult matchup when his team face the Nerazzurri as their next opponents.

Speaking after La Dea’s win over Sassuolo yesterday evening, as reported by L’Intersita, the Italian tactician gave his thoughts on the upcoming fixture and the strength of the Nerazzurri and their city rivals AC Milan.

Atalanta have endured a somewhat mixed start to the season, but they got back on track with a solid win over Sassuolo to follow up their defeat of newly-promoted Salernitana over the weekend.

The Bergamo-based club will have to hope that they can keep this momentum going, however, with their next two fixtures in the league against the in-form Milan clubs with Swiss champions Young Boys in the Champions League sandwiched between the two domestic fixtures.

“Let’s go to Inter, who are a great team,” Gasperini said of his team’s next opponents, “even more so after having sold Lukaku and Hakimi. This year will be competitive again. Maybe we meet two of the three strongest teams in this league. They are the best at the moment along with Napoli, we need to understand what condition we are in.”
