Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is glad to have gotten three points from a tough away match in the Nerazzurri’s trip to the Stadio Artemio Franchi to face Fiorentina tonight.

Speaking to Inter TV after the match, the coach gave his immediate reaction to the match in which his side had to come back from a goal down against a strong Viola side.

Inzaghi had warned his players before the match not to get complacent after their big win against Bologna over the weekend and that Fiorentina are a tough side, and so it proved, with Vincenzo Italiano’s side looking the stronger team during the first half and going into halftime deservedly a goal ahead.

However, the Nerazzurri showed all of their quality and determination to turn the match around, with a frenetic second-half performance earning them all three points and continuing their sense of momentum going forward.

“The team did well to keep together,” he said. “In the first half hour we suffered from their pressure, but already in the last quarter of an hour in the first half we were starting to give them less space. We came back on the pitch and played very well, and we earned the victory.”

Of his team’s prolific attack he said, “Everyone is scoring, they are all involved, I’m happy. Now we have to continue, already on Saturday there will be another very demanding match – we will have to recover our energy.”

“The more we have the ball in play, the better it is for everyone. We need to see as few stoppages as possible to get the pace up.”

He concluded on the Scudetto challenge, stating that “We feel up for it, we’re fine. All the matches are complicated, here in Florence it won’t be easy for anyone.”
