Legendary former Inter striker Sandro Mazzola believes that the Nerazzurri are currently in a position of strength, and that this reflects their manager Simone Inzaghi.
Speaking to Italian news service ADNKronos, as reported by FCInterNews, the 79-year-old gave the view that former Lazio boss Inzaghi has a way of communicating with players and conveying his ideas.
Inter have gotten off to a fast start this season, with four wins and a draw seeing them top of the table at least until Napoli play, and they look to have shaken off a summer which saw them part ways with former coach Antonio Conte as well as important players Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.
Mazzola credits Inzaghi for this strong approach, and gives his praise to the 45-year-old, who he states that he has long been an admirer of.
He gave his account of the Italian tactician and why his time at Inter has already proved successful, stating that “I’ve known him since he was playing, he’s someone who knows where he wants to go and manages to get inside the players’ heads.”
“If he wants something from them and sees that they do not understand,” Mazzola continued, “he repeats it to them morning, noon, and night until they understand. And now you see that they have an interesting mindset, they look for the ball, they are waiting for their teammates, they do good things.”
