Inter have shown that they have the qualities necessary to go all the way and fight for the Scudetto, according to Italian media.

This from Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who argue in today’s print edition that the Nerazzurri’s comeback win against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi yesterday evening marked the Nerazzurri even more clearly out among the favourites to win Serie A this season.

The statistics around Inter’s attack already look to clearly mark them as one of the top sides in the Italian top flight, with eighteen goals in five games through eleven scorers the top attack in Serie A.

The Corriere also highlight the fact that the Nerazzurri have now scored in 24 successive games, finding the back of the net twice or more in their past ten, suggesting a continuity of attacking strength which could serve them well.

More than this, however, the way in which the team came back from a one-goal deficit after an opening half-hour in which they looked completely unable to cope with the pressure exerted by an energetic Fiorentina team, not unlike their comeback against Hellas Verona before the international break, demonstrated that the team under Simone Inzaghi can see out problematic spells and then take their chances.

For these reasons, the Corriere believe that last evening’s clash in Tuscany was virtually the clearest piece of evidence yet that Inter are capable of defending their Scudetto crown.
