Inter striker Edin Dzeko praised his teammates’ quality following an important victory against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Speaking to Inter TV after the match in which the Nerazzurri had to come back from a goal down to earn all three points, the Bosnian gave credit to the squad for showing their class to keep the momentum going.

Inter’s second half performance showed that they have the ability and mentality to earn points even in difficult situations, but in the first half they did not look at their best and were outplayed by a Viola team who deservedly went into the interval a goal to the good.

Vincenzo Italiano’s men looked sharper and the Nerazzurri had a hard time living with the high press, but after the break they looked a refreshed side, and the individual and collective quality in the team showed through to deliver another important win.

“It’s important to have won a very, very difficult match where, especially in the first half, we suffered a lot,” Dzeko reflected. “In the second half we certainly showed how strong this team is.”

He went on, “They could have maybe scored another goal in the first half, thank goodness we stayed in the game and then in three minutes we managed to overturn it. They also dropped a bit after the first half.”

“It is easy to play with great players,: he said of his teammates, “they are all very strong and they are Italian champions. Correa arrived with me and he too will entertain us this year. It doesn’t matter who scores, as long as Inter win.”

He concluded that “The win is important against a great Fiorentina side who will certainly have a strong season. Tonight we enjoy the victory, but from tomorrow we are already thinking about the next match, which is always the most important.”
