Edin Dzeko will have a point to prove to the Inter hierarchy when the Nerazzurri face Atalanta on Saturday, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Edin Dzeko was the man chosen by Inter to help find the team enough goals after Romelu Lukaku left the club. Many suggested he may be too old to provide what is needed.

The Atalanta match is interesting because he will be up against Duvan Zapata, whom Inter most likely would have rather signed over the Bosnian.

The two teams had an agreement in place for the Colombian to join Inter but La Dea could not find a replacement.

Edin Dzeko has started the season excellently though and is Inter’s top scorer with four goals in five games.

He will want to prove to Inter that they did not get the second best option.
