A former AS Roma midfielder has expressed how highly he rates Edin Dzeko, who left the Giallorossi for Inter in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media.

Whilst speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Manuel Gerolin explained that Edin Dzeko was the main man at AS Roma and that he is one of the strongest strikers in Europe.

“He was the strength of Roma. It’s out of the question, we’re talking about one of the strongest strikers in Europe.”

Edin Dzeko was signed by Inter as part of the plan to replace Romelu Lukaku who joined Chelsea for €115 million late in the summer transfer window.

Many fans were not very excited by the signing given the Bosnian is now 35-years-old, but after five games he is Inter’s top scorer so far this season. He has four goals in just five league games for the Nerazzurri.

His most recent was the winning goal in the 2-1 win over Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. He is expected to start again against Atalanta this Saturday.
