The last time that Inter scored this many goals in their first five league fixtures was in the 1960/61 Serie A campaign, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the man in charge of the team back then was Helenio Herrera. He presided over five matches where Inter managed to score an impressive 18 goals.

That Nerazzurri side beat Bologna 5-1, Bari 2-1, Udinese 6-0, and Vicenza 5-0, before drawing 0-0 with Lazio in the fifth game.

That means they scored 18 goals which is the amount that Simone Inzaghi’s Inter has managed so far, which will be an immense relief to the coach and the executives at Inter.

After the departure of Romelu Lukaku there was a fear that goals would be hard to come by, but the signings of Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa have, so far, worked very well, with the former scoring four goals already.
