Ex-Inter wing back Achraf Hakimi has explained that he already knows he made the right decision in choosing to join Paris Saint Germain during the summer transfer window, according to a report in the French print media.

Speaking during an interview with French newspaper, L’Equipe, Achraf Hakimi explained why he chose Paris Saint Germain over the option he also had to go to Chelsea in the Premier League.

“I had the feeling that I had to come to Paris, that I would be happy here. PSG is a great club and I appreciated how much the people here seemed to love and want me.”

There was some good fortune for Achraf Hakimi once he left Inter because the club then signed Gianluigi Donnarumma, Giorginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi. The last two of those names in particular are enough to make any player excited.

“I was lucky that my arrival was accompanied by big purchases. I’m already sure I made the right choice.”

Achraf Hakimi was one of Inter’s star performers during the Scudetto winning season with Antonio Conte at the helm in 2020/21.

He was quickly marked as for sale though as the club looked to raise as much money as possible from the transfer window.
