If all goes to plan with the scheme Inter and AC Milan could be playing in a brand new stadium by 2025 at the earliest, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, it has now been two years since the presentations of the final plans for the stadium were presented by two architectural firms, Populous and Sportium.

Due to the fact that Inter and AC Milan are not the private owners of San Siro, there are significantly more political and bureaucratic procedures to follow before any physical work can begin on the new stadium.

By the end of 2022 though, developers are hoping to have begun the physical job of building a new stadium and entertainment complex for the fans of both teams, that will hopefully generate much more matchday income for the clubs.

That would mean an inauguration in 2025 is not impossible.
