Inter have an option to extend the contract of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic past the end of June 2022 when it currently expires, according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The market expert reported on his Twitter account that the Nerazzurri can extend the 28-year-old’s contract past next summer.

Brozovic is a vital player at the Giuseppe Meazza, and extending him past next summer will be a priority, with the club determined not to lose the Croat on a free transfer, and to keep him in their plans going forward.

As of yet no new deal has been agreed with the midfielder, although it is thought that the will of the player is to find an agreement on a new contract.

According to Di Marzio, the club could have an option to extend the player’s current deal as well, though it remains to be seen how his contract situation will play out in the end.

On Brozovic, Di Marzio stated that “To my knowledge… Inter should also have an option to extend his contract.”
