Italian journalist Paolo Condo believes that Inter have the mentality to come back in difficult games and rescue results against difficult opponents.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the Nerazzurri’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta at the San Siro, Condo praised the team’s ability to find their qualities when they need them most and get out of adverse situations.

Inter both led and trailed in this evening’s match against La Dea, sharing the points in the end after a back-and-forth encounter which looked like it could go either way right up until the end.

The Nerazzurri went in at the interval deservedly trailing by a goal after letting an early lead slip and getting outplayed by Gian Piero Gasperini’s men, but by the end of the contest they looked the likelier to go on and win it, hauling back the deficit and missing a penalty that would have given them the advantage late on.

Combined with the nature of the comeback win against Fiorentina during the week, the Nerazzurri have shown the ability to produce their best when they need a comeback.

“Inter were able to come back from the abyss,” Condo said. “After conceding the goal and risking conceding the third, they retreated and came close to winning. Yes, it is a match that has proven the strength of the Nerazzurri.”
