Nicolò Barella Deemed MOTM & Samir Handanovic Worst Inter Player Against Atalanta By Italian Media

Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella was the Nerazzurri’s best performer against Atalanta in yesterday’s 2-2 draw at the San Siro, while goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was their worst on the pitch.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who single out Barella for praise and Handanovic for criticism in their player ratings for the match.

Barella was particularly praised by the newspaper for his creative contributions after he bagged his fifth of the season with an excellent curled delivery into the box for Lautaro Martinez’s early opening goal.

Tuttosport notes that the 24-year-old is beginning to show that he can be a decisive part of the Nerazzurri and a real creative outlet, something which he has been demonstrating all season.

Meanwhile, Samir Handanovic was given a failing grade of 4.5/10 for a shaky performance in which he bore some responsibility for both of La Dea’s goal and also failed to save what looked to be a tame effort late on, but in the last instance was bailed out by VAR.

The likes of Milan Skriniar, Matteo Darmian, and Hakan Calhanoglu were also singled out for criticism, while Edin Dzeko was given praise for helping his team up the pitch, and he likes of Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco were deemed to have put in adequate performances, even with the latter’s missed penalty.
