Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter can become a top team once they find their level over the course of the season.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, Sconcerti gave the view that the Nerazzurri have both scored and conceded a lot of goals already but that they will be able to become a more disciplined side as the season goes on.

Inter have had the top attack in Serie A this season, with twenty goals from only six matches giving an indication of how prolific they can be in front of goal.

However, it is highly unlikely that they will continue to score goals at this rate, even with the quality of players in their squad and the style of football.

Sconcerti believes that as the season goes on the Nerazzurri will find a more normal level but remain a strong team.

“Inter, who have an excellent prototype of a great team, scored so much that they have a projection of 126 goals at the end of the season, an enormous amount,” he writes. “But they always concede goals, here the projection is over 44. These numbers are not possible forever.”
