Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is happy to see the mentality he wants from his players, with the squad showing the desire to continuously improve and get better results.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, the 45-year-old gave his view that the Nerazzurri have played well so far in the season but that they can show even more and that they will work hard to improve as a team.

Inzaghi’s team have shown attacking quality, but also defensive frailties, leaving them third in the table and four points behind Napoli who have enjoyed a perfect start to the season, while they lost their first Champions League group stage match against Real Madrid.

The coach feels that the team are on the right track, but he also hopes to see even better from them going forward, something which he believes there is great potential for if they keep working as they have done.

We can improve, for sure,” he explained, “We played the first six matches of the league and the match against Real in the best possible way. We have great potential, we played excellent football and we have the best attack in Serie A.”

“We could concede less, but it is our way of playing at the moment,” he reflected. “It is normal that we would have liked to have done better than we did, but it is the beginning and I am satisfied with the guys. I see they would like more, I saw disappointment in them after Atalanta and this makes me happy.”

He went on, “For now I’m having fun watching my team play, I would have liked to win on Saturday and we probably would have deserved it too. But we met a top opponent who played an open game, and both us and Atalanta have to accept the draw.”
