The deteriorating form of captain Samir Handanovic is beginning to become an issue for Inter, according to Italian media.

This from Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who argue in today’s print edition that the Nerazzurri must find the right solution to a situation that is becoming untenable with the Slovenian.

Handanovic has come in for criticism this season for several high-profile errors, and his performance against Atalanta was his most heavily scrutinized display yet.

The 37-year-old showed his best in the first half of the Nerazzurri’s clash with Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, where a number of important saves restricted La Viola to only one goal and allowed his team a way back into the game.

However, against La Dea he looked a liability, partially at fault for both goals and spared further embarrassment when a late Atalanta winner that had slipped through his fingers was ruled out by VAR.

The Corriere writes that “Handanovic, a key contributor against Fiorentina, is becoming a problem,” and suggest that the Nerazzurri will have to wait until they can bring in Andre Onana or another replacement before the issue will get any better.
