Ajax are under the impression that Inter target Andre Onana is already prepared to leave next summer on a free transfer and has already accepted an agreement with another club amid strong links to Inter.

This according to Dutch journalist Freek Jansen, who wrote on Voetbal International, via FCInterNews, that the Dutch champions are resigned to letting the Cameroonian go and that they believe he has already found his next club.

Onana emerged as one of the Nerazzurri’s main targets as a long-term successor to captain Samir Handanovic in goal, with the possibility of bringing in a top young keeper as a free agent seriously tempting to the club.

Rumours have linked the 25-year-old to the Nerazzurri and his entourage has reportedly been in talks with the club, though the player has denied the rumour and affirmed that he is still committed to his current club.

Jansen wrote of the situation that “Erik Ten Hag said just before the market closed: Onana will leave. But he has not left. Now the question becomes interesting, because in that interview he reopened the door.”

He went on, “But Ajax are internally fairly convinced that the player has really signed a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club, and that he is accepting a lot of money to sign.”
