Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi wants to focus on the challenges to come after playing out a goalless draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in their Champions League clash earlier this evening.

Speaking in a press conference after the match, as reported by FCInterNews, the Italian tactician gave the view that his team must focus on their next matches rather than dwell on the points dropped in Ukraine this evening.

Inter were not at their best in a match which saw both sides fail to find the back of the net from relatively few good goal-scoring opportunities.

Unlike the match against Real Madrid on the first matchday of the group stage, and unlike many of their recent Serie A clashes, the Nerazzurri did not look to pile on the scoring chances, and they played a more reserved game against Roberto De Zerbi’s tough Shakhtar team.

In the end, both sides took their first point of the group stage away from the match, and both will have to make sure they are at their best in the group stage matches to come.

“After watching the match it is undoubtedly the strangest and most surprising result,” Inzaghi reflected. “We had more chances, but we came up against a great goalkeeper. But in front of us there was an excellent Shakhtar coached by a great coach in Roberto De Zerbi.”

And on the complexion of Group D he said, “I think it is a balanced group. Now we will see our double match with Sheriff and theirs with Real Madrid. Two more games will have passed, then in November we will see how the next head-to-head will go.”
