Inter’s strike partnership of Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez have not been able to score goals in the Champions League this season.

This from today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that each of the pair missed a good chance during the goalless draw, once again failing to turn their goalscoring form from Serie A into a clinical edge in Europe’s top competition.

Inter have failed to find the back of the net in either of their Champions League match, while their twenty goals from six matches makes their attack the strongest in Serie A.

Dzeko has scored on five occasions in the Italian top flight, while Martinez is just behind him with four goals, yet their inability to convert chances was once again on display during a frustrating evening in Ukraine.

The Bosnian’s shot from point-blank range sailed over the crossbar after a promising situation from a corner, while the Argentine failed to make the best out of a defensive mix-up by Shakhtar during the second half.

If the Nerazzurri are to start to get better results in the Champions League, then their two key men up top must find a way to dispatch their chances as they have done regularly in domestic competition.
