A former Italian footballer has suggested that Inter’s Nicolo Barella is now a complete footballer that could be tempted by other teams in Europe, according to a report in the Italian media today.
Whilst being interviewed by Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Simone Barone explained that he thinks Nicolo Barella is the best midfielder in Serie A right now.
“I choose Barella as the most important midfielder, I have known him since I played in Cagliari and he was a kid in the youth sector.
“Even then he was very well talked about: today he is a complete midfielder, he defends and knows how to score.
“Nicolò has grown a lot in the attacking zone with assists and important plays.”
He also explained that the Sardinian is a complete midfielder who may end up being tempted by other big teams in Europe due to his quality, such as Paris Saint Germain who have already made their interest known.
“Now he is a complete player and still has room for growth, so I hope he will stay in Italy for a long time.
“It would be a shame to see him fly abroad even if it is normal for such a talent to be tempting to the biggest European clubs.”
On Inter’s Scudetto hopes, Simone Barone briefly explained that Inter still has the tools to win the Scudetto again due to the strength of the squad.
“Inter remain very well equipped and with a really strong squad.”
Nicolo Barella is believed to want to sign a new contract with Inter but the interest from Paris Saint Germain among other could make the salary negotiations more tricky.
