Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is expected to return to Inter’s starting eleven against Sassuolo on Saturday evening, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport 24, the attacking midfielder was left out of the starting eleven by Simone Inzaghi for the 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

He was replaced by Matias Vecino who was not able to affect the game very much. Sassuolo are on a poor run of form under new coach Dionisi so Inter will be hoping to play with attacking players and make the game comfortable.

It is vital that Inter returns to winning ways after the draws against Atalanta and Shakhtar Donetsk so they can keep close to Napoli and AC Milan at the top of the table.

Ivan Perisic may also return to the team for the match against Sassuolo rather than Federico Dimarco.
