Lautaro Martinez needs to start recreating his goalscoring form in Serie A in the European competitions if Inter are to progress, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the disparity between the Argentine’s form in Serie A and the Champions League is remarkably stark for a player of his considerable quality.

He has only managed to score once in nine Champions League outings for Inter during his career and has only managed three in all 14 European games, which includes the Europa League run that ended with defeat in the final to Sevilla.

This is a major problem for Inter as he is the main source of goals in the team and they have not scored a single goal in their first two group matches of this season’s Champions League campaign.

Inter have just one point after losing to Real Madrid and drawing with Shakhtar Donetsk.
