Inter’s CEO has spoken with the players at the club and assured them that this season will be much smoother in a financial sense than the last one was, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Beppe Marotta explained to the players that they are continuing to be paid on time and in full and that nothing untoward should happen this year in that respect.

It is likely that he feels the need to make these assurances because at the end of last season the players were asked to take a pay cut in order to help address the financial turmoil that the club was in.

Inter announced their losses yesterday and the amount totalled just over €245 million but it is already being redressed by the sales of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku, the sponsorship deals, and the fans being back at San Siro.
