Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries is the player who Simone Inzaghi is likeliest to turn to in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Sassuolo this evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 25-year-old is the favourite to start on the right as the coach sees him as the strongest option and wants to see his team perform at their best against the Neroverdi.
Dumfries has started against the likes of Bologna and Shakhtar Donetsk in addition to making a few appearances off of the bench since his summer arrival from PSV, and has alternated with Matteo Darmian in the right-sided role in Inzaghi’s plans.
However, the Dutchman has been showing very well in training, and the coach is likely to put his faith in the former PSV man who he will expect to cement his place in the team with a strong performance against Alessio Dionisi’s man.
