Serie A and La Liga are working on chartering a flight to bring back players on duty with South American teams during the international break as early as possible, with Inter hoping that squad members will return from the break as soon as possible.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the likes of Joaquin Correa and Lautaro Martinez among others are expected to arrive directly in Rome a day before the Nerazzurri’s Serie A fixture against Lazio.

As with the last international break, the packed schedule of CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers means that players on international duty with South American teams will have fixtures scheduled little more than 24 hours ahead of their first club matches back.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be hoping to have Martinez and Correa in particular back as soon as possible, and will hope that the chartered flight can see the players back as soon as possible from South America though it remains to be seen if they will be ready to make their returns against Lazio on the 16th.
