Inter forward Joaquin Correa is ready to start against Sassuolo today, and has confirmed that he is fully fit to make his return from the start.

Speaking to InterTV before this evening’s Serie A clash with Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium, the Argentine gave an update on his fitness following the decision of Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi to start him up front alongside Lautaro Martinez.

Correa had to leave the pitch in discomfort during the first half of the Nerazzurri’s match against Bologna following a collision with Rossoblu defender Lorenzo De Silvestre, and missed the two subsequent matches as he recovered.

However, the Argentine came off the bench during the second half of Inter’s midweek Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk, and is also making his second start since joining from Lazio in the summer this evening.

Correa wants to help the club get past a frustrating goalless draw away to Shakhtar and the draw with Atalanta at the San Siro last weekend by beating the Neroverdi this evening.

He said that he and his teammates have a “great desire to play well and win. today. It is very important for us so we will give everything for it.”

The Argentine expects the match against Sassuolo to be “A tough game, they have players of the highest quality so we must try to play our part, to take control of the match and bring home the three points.”

And when asked whether he feels 100% Correa stated, “Yes, I feel good. I had a problem that left me a little off but now I’m fine. We hope to make the fans happy today.”
