Inter strikers Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko will travel to face Sassuolo as one of the most prolific strike partnerships in Europe in domestic action, though they have failed to get on the scoresheet in the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note that the duo have scored nine goals between themselves in Serie A while thus far failing to score in Europe’s top competition.

Dzeko has been an impactful player since his arrival from Roma over the summer, finding the back of the net five times in his first six matches, while Martinez has scored four goals in five matches having been suspended for the opening fixture of the campaign.

The pair each have good records against Sassuolo, with Dzeko having scored six goals in eleven matches against the Neroverdi while Martinez has a strike rate of three from six matches against this evening’s opposition.

The duo will have a good chance of getting on the scoresheet against Alessio Dionisi’s men this evening in Emila-Romagna if their records are any indication, but they must also find a way to transfer this form to the Champions League.
