Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is close to agreeing a contract extension with the Nerazzuri, and will meet with the club soon to finalize a new deal.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Croat wants to agree terms on a new deal and that a renewal could be wrapped up as early as October.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and the Nerazzurri have made agreeing a new deal with the 28-year-old a priority as they look to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.

The player wants to stay on with the club, but he wants a significant increase to his current wages which are around €3.5 million net per season.

The Croat is thought to be asking for close to double what he currently earns, while the club are reportedly ready to go to €5 million net annually, the same amount that summer signing Hakan Calhanoglu currently earns, and an agreement should not be hard to find.
