Former Inter midfielder Borja Valero doesn’t believe that Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic has any problems with receiving criticisms.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after Inter’s win over Sassuolo yesterday, the 36-year-old praised Handanovic’s professionalism and stated that he showed how good he can be during the match at the Mapei Stadium.

Handanovic has come in for some criticism during the early parts of the season, with high profile errors leading some to question whether he is still at his best and good enough to keep hold of the starting spot at Inter.

Valero believes that the Slovenian has the ability to shake of the criticisms and that he isn’t phased by it, but instead focuses on putting in the best performances he can.

The former midfielder believes that Handanovic showed his best against Sassuolo yesterday and that he responded to his criticism with his display to help lead his team to the win.

“He doesn’t have a lot of problems with what people say about him,” Valero said of Handanovic, “He’s a true professional and he proved it today with a masterful performance.”
